Tarah Holdipp

About Tarah Holdipp

Tarah Holdipp made her transition from beauty shows to music in 1996 when she decided to compete in her first ever singing competition. She entered and placed 2nd in the Barbados Queen of Song Competition.

Having made this transition without failure, she became lead vocalist in two bands, Xzibit One and nightclub band Full Swing. She sang beside the likes of Ricky Stoute, Indra Rudder (now a backing vocalist with Machel Montano HD), Cathy-Ann Payne, Kareen Clarke and Troy ‘Special’ Harper (now a recording artiste).

Known for her distinctive voice, this 4 time Pic-O-De-Crop Semifinalist made her official mark on the scenes in 2007 with the groovy Ragga Soca tune ‘I Ain’t Lookin’, a collaboration performed with Natahlee Burke.

‘I Ain’t Lookin’ took Tarah to the Party Monarch Finals Competition in 2007 where she gave a dynamic, energetic and unforgettable performance. Despite it being her first time at this level of competition, she placed 5th and was nominated with Natahlee at the Barbados Music Awards 2008 for Best Ragga Soca Combination and Best Ragga Soca Female.

For 2008 this diva “stepped up her game” completely by offering three songs for the Crop Over season: “All Nite”, “Push Back” and collaboration with Anderson ‘Blood’ Armstrong “Dis is Fete”, which have all enjoyed great rotation on radio stations in Barbados, London, Canada and New York.
